NASA Awards $5.2 Million to Robotic, Earth Science, Space Station Research

Credits: NASA NASA is awarding more than $5.2 million total to universities and academic organizations across the country to support research and technology development projects that align with the agency’s most pressing priorities, including Earth science, aeronautics, and robotic and human deep space exploration. Funded through NASA’s Established Program to Stimulate Competitive Research (EPSCoR), the awards include $3.9 million through Rapid Response Research (R3) and $1.3 million through Suborbital Flight Opportunity (SFO). The R3 opportunity is designed to fast-track research and development applicable to NASA’s mission priorities. Suborbital Flight Opportunity, awarded in conjunction with the agency’s Science Technology Mission Directorate, helps advance technologies of interest to NASA while supporting commercial flight providers and furthering the work of researchers at three different institutions.
